Powerball Jackpot Reaches $1.4 Billion for Wednesday Drawing
The Powerball jackpot has surged to an estimated $1.4 billion for the upcoming drawing, marking the sixth-largest lottery prize in U.S. history.
The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $1.4 billion for the drawing scheduled on Wednesday night. This marks the sixth-largest lottery prize in U.S. history and the fourth-largest in Powerball's history. The cash value of the jackpot is estimated at $634.3 million.
The increase follows 40 consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner since May 31, 2025. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with drawings held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
Players can choose between an annuitized prize, paid over 29 years, or a lump sum payment. Both options are before taxes. The annuity option consists of one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.
In the previous drawing, while no ticket matched all six numbers, ten tickets matched all five white balls to win $1 million each. These tickets were sold in California, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey (2), New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Additionally, two tickets, sold in Montana and North Carolina, won $2 million each by matching all five white balls and including the Power Play option.
The overall odds of winning any prize in Powerball are 1 in 24.9. Players are encouraged to check their tickets carefully, as prizes are awarded for matching the red Powerball or a portion of the winning numbers.
