Falcons coach says quarterback lineup for Panthers game remains undecided

Atlanta Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski said the team has not finalized its quarterback for Sunday’s matchup with the Carolina Panthers and is keeping all options open. Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is dealing with an oblique injury, remains day-to-day and will not practice on Wednesday, while third-string quarterback Cooper Rush, who started the season-opening loss to Pittsburgh, is still recovering from back spasms but will attend Wednesday’s practice. Stefanski declined to confirm whether Tagovailoa will start if cleared, noting the need for flexibility. Backup Michael Penix Jr., cleared to practice after ACL surgery, has not indicated readiness for game action. Undrafted rookie Jack Strand, who performed well in preseason, also remains a potential option, and Stefanski confirmed he is not being ruled out.
