Apple launches first iOS 27.2 developer beta for iPhone
Apple has made the initial iOS 27.2 developer beta available, following the public release of iOS 27 and preceding the iOS 27.1 beta that targets the upcoming iPhone Duo.
Apple released the first developer beta of iOS 27.2 for iPhone devices on the same day it announced the public rollout of iOS 27. The new build is a 22 GB update and arrives before the iOS 27.1 beta, which is focused on the forthcoming iPhone Duo.
The iOS 27.1 SDK is intended to enable developers to optimize apps for the Duo’s dual-screen display, but Apple appears to be postponing the Duo-specific code until closer to the hardware’s October launch. Developers are still expected to ready their apps for the new device, with Apple saying the necessary tools should be available by the end of September.
Apple also highlighted broader changes slated for all iPhone models, including a redesigned Health app and expanded Siri AI capabilities. > "A more capable and conversational assistant with personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, onscreen awareness, and even more system-wide app actions, Siri AI is now rolling out as a beta in English, with support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish coming in October," the company said.
Further details about the iOS 27.2 beta’s features will be examined as the software is tested, and additional coverage is planned.
