Samsung Begins Rolling Out One UI 9 Android 17 Update to Galaxy S26 Series
Samsung has started deploying its One UI 9 update, based on Android 17, to the Galaxy S26 lineup, with a broader rollout to other devices expected in the coming weeks.
Samsung confirmed that the first stable release of its One UI 9 software, built on Android 17, is now being pushed to the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra models. The update follows a four-month beta period and follows the initial launch on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 in July. Samsung said the rollout will continue gradually to additional Galaxy devices.
One UI 9 adds features such as automatic video tracking with My FanCam, generative and editable cards in the Now Brief feed, expanded warranty and care information in Settings, and new Galaxy AI tools including Nudge, Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan and Voice Recorder. Privacy enhancements include a Security Brief, Privacy Alerts and Scam Detection.
A Samsung newsroom note listed several devices slated for the Android 17 upgrade, including the S26 series, S25 and S25 FE, S24 and S24 FE, S23 and S23 FE, the Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, Fold 6 and Flip 6, Fold 5 and Flip 5, as well as various Tab S models. The list was noted as non-exhaustive, with some models such as the S26+ not explicitly mentioned.
