Benchmarks Show Significant Performance Gains for New M6 Mac mini

सारांश

Initial Geekbench 7 results indicate the M6-powered Mac mini delivers notable improvements in single-core and multi-core performance over earlier models.

Pre-release benchmarks for Apple’s latest Mac mini, identified as a "Mac18,5" with an M6 chip, have been posted on Geekbench 7. The listing shows the device uses a 12-core CPU running at a base frequency of 4.78 GHz, higher than the 4.4 GHz of the M4 Mac mini and the 3.2 GHz of the M1 model.

In the single-core test the M6 Mac mini recorded a score of 4,071, representing roughly a 24 % increase over the M4, a 69 % gain versus the M2, and an 89 % rise compared with the M1. Multi-core results were even larger, with a score of 22,783, which is about 48 % higher than the M4, 132 % above the M2, and 165 % over the M1.

Only one CPU benchmark entry is currently available, and no GPU or AI test results have been published. Analysts expect additional data to emerge as more units reach consumers, which will help confirm the extent of the performance improvements.

"Consumers typically notice a performance difference when it exceeds roughly 15 %," a spokesperson noted, suggesting that the reported gains should be perceptible to early adopters.
