FBI and Philadelphia Police Examine Over One Million Images in Olney Home Murder Investigation

Resumen

Federal and city investigators are analyzing more than one million images recovered from a Philadelphia home linked to five missing women, while authorities anticipate an update on the case this week.

Federal agents and Philadelphia police are working to authenticate more than one million images recovered from a house on West Chew Avenue in the city’s Olney neighborhood, where five women who have gone missing since 2012 are believed to have been seen. The investigation focuses on 44-year-old Eugene Horsch, who has been held in federal custody on firearms charges.

Family members of the victims, including the cousin of Nicole Fusaro, who disappeared in 2018, have been meeting with detectives. > "Nicole was a beautiful, kind-hearted woman who deserved so much better than what happened to her. She will forever be loved and missed by her family and friends," the cousin said.

The missing women linked to the case are Gabrielle Amarando (disappeared 2012), Maribel Fresses (2018), Blair Tonzelli (2023) and Amy McHale (last seen 2016). Police say video recovered during the probe shows Amarando and Fresses alive in the home, but both appear to have died; their bodies have not been found.

Investigators also recovered a handwritten note referencing serial-killer Ted Bundy and methods for disposing of trash, though the note was unsigned. Evidence seized from the property includes chemicals, drugs, firearms, ballistic material and a 55-gallon drum connected to water lines. An underground pipe in front of the house has been excavated for testing.

The case began after a federal park ranger observed a black BMW parked illegally near Independence Mall on June 19 and, after questioning the occupants, was handed an ID bearing Tonzelli’s name. Horsch was arrested at the scene with a woman in possession of that ID. Police say a video allegedly shows Raymond Horsch, Eugene’s late father, strangling an unidentified woman.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel indicated an update could be provided as early as this week, though no press conference has been scheduled.
