Spanish digests, a calmer voice and a player that keeps playing
Three small changes to the digest this month, all on the web, all aimed at making the day's summary easier to take in.
Digests in Spanish
The text of the daily digest is now translated into Spanish, so Spanish speakers can catch up in their own language. Audio digests stay in English and Russian for now.
A more natural voice
We switched the voice that reads the digest aloud. It now sounds closer to a person: steadier rhythm, fewer odd stresses and a calmer delivery. If you listen on a commute or while making coffee, the difference should be easy to hear.
A player that keeps going
The web audio player used to stop when you opened another page. Now it is persistent: start a digest, then browse events, open the feed or check Pulse, and the audio keeps playing. You can pause or switch from the player at any time.
Why it matters
A digest is for people who want the picture in a couple of minutes. A reader in Spanish, a listener who wants a gentler voice, and anyone who wants to look around while listening each get a smoother version of that.
How to try it
Open the digest page on factslane.com and choose Spanish in the language selector for the text version, or press play on the audio digest and keep browsing.
