Offline listening with FL Plus

Planes, tunnels, weak signal on a trail: some of the best listening time has no internet. FactsLane 1.8 on iOS brings episodes with you.

What you can do

• Download an episode. Save it to your device and play it with no connection.
• A Downloads screen. See everything that is stored, play it, or delete it.
• Automatic downloads. Turn on the shows you follow and new episodes are downloaded for you, so they are ready before you leave. Downloads are meant to happen in the background, when conditions allow, so they do not get in your way.
• A storage limit. Decide how much space FactsLane may use. When the limit is reached, the oldest downloads are removed to make room for new ones.
• An offline banner. When there is no connection, the app says so and shows what you can still play.

Who gets it

Offline listening is part of FL Plus. Without the plan, you can still stream everything in the Audio hub.

Why we did it

An audio product that only works online lets you down at exactly the moments when you most want it. Offline playback makes catching up independent of your signal.

How to try it

Update to FactsLane 1.8 on iOS, open the Audio tab and look for the download button on an episode. Automatic downloads are in the Podcasts settings. Android follows.
