A motorcycle and two cars collided on Tampines Avenue 12 on Oct. 29, killing a motorcyclist and his pillion rider, while police continue to look for the driver and passenger of a second car who left the scene.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted to a multi-vehicle collision involving two cars and a motorcycle on Tampines Avenue 12 at about 10:35 p.m. on Oct. 29. The 24-year-old male motorcyclist and his 24-year-old female pillion rider were taken unconscious to hospital and later died. A 25-year-old female driver of one of the cars was taken conscious to hospital. SCDF reported that two victims were taken to Changi General Hospital and one to Sengkang General Hospital.

Police are searching for the male driver and female passenger of the second car, who were not present when officers arrived. Preliminary investigations indicate the pair left the scene after the crash.

An eyewitness, identified only as Syazwani, said she heard a loud screech and saw a blue Audi travelling in the opposite direction crash through railings, striking the motorcycle first and then colliding with a black car. She described the motorcyclist and his pillion rider being thrown into the air before landing face down on the ground. The eyewitness observed a man unbuckling his seatbelt and exiting the blue Audi, followed by a woman who appeared shaken but uninjured; they later fled toward a grass area.

Another witness, Natassja, called an ambulance while the first witness assessed the scene. She said the ambulance arrival revealed that the occupants of the blue Audi had already left, and joggers nearby attempted but failed to locate them.

Photos circulating on social media showed the blue car overturned on its side, a black car on a grass patch with a damaged rear bumper, and the motorcycle severely mangled. Debris, uprooted vegetation and broken road dividers were scattered across the area.

The incident occurs as traffic accidents in Singapore have risen, with injuries increasing from 3,748 in the first half of 2025 to 3,869 in the same period in 2026. Motorcyclists and pillion riders accounted for 55.6% of all traffic accidents and 45.9% of road deaths in the first half of 2026.
