MI5 chief warns against overstating Russian influence in Brexit vote
Sir Ken McCallum, head of MI5, said evidence shows Russian media and online activity targeted the 2016 Brexit referendum, and Prime Minister Andy Burnham said interference was likely but its impact remains unclear. Earlier, Burnham told reporters that Russia interfered in the vote and warned of similar meddling in France and Germany. He also said the referendum was legitimate while acknowledging it was inconceivable that Russia did not try to influence it, and urged European voters to be better informed about foreign meddling.
