Sean Payton resumes Broncos offensive play-calling as Davis Webb steps back
Broncos offensive coordinator Davis Webb said head coach Sean Payton has reclaimed play-calling duties after a slow start, and Webb will remain involved in game planning while looking forward to the team’s response. NBC Sports reported that the Broncos removed Webb from play-calling duties and reinstated Payton ahead of the game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
ESPN said the team would involve Payton more directly in game-day play-calling to improve its struggling offense. Mile High Report quoted Payton announcing his return, saying it was necessary to fine-tune details and support the upcoming game plan.
