Georgia takes early lead in rain-soaked Alabama SEC showdown
CBS Sports reported that Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton accounted for a touchdown and a 53-yard gain, giving the Bulldogs an early lead over Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium, and that President Donald Trump cancelled his planned attendance because of the storm. SEC officials said the Georgia-Alabama game would proceed as scheduled despite the approaching Hurricane Isaias, and University of Alabama officials announced adjustments to tailgating, parking and shuttle services.
Meteorologists warned that the storm could bring heavy rain and flooding to the stadium area. DawgNation reported that secondary-market ticket prices fell to around $133 as forecasts predicted mild mid-60s temperatures and a low chance of rain.
