Gurman says OLED MacBook Pro likely won't be much thinner
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman revised his earlier claims, indicating that Apple's upcoming touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro will be lighter but not significantly thinner than current models.
Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman clarified on X that the anticipated touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro is not expected to be markedly thinner than existing versions, though it may be lighter. The comment came after earlier reports in October and November that suggested the new models would feature thinner frames and chassis. Gurman's latest newsletter from October notes the devices will be "significantly lighter," indicating a shift from his prior emphasis on reduced thickness.
"I don't think it'll be significantly thinner in the end," Gurman wrote in response to a question about the upcoming machine, which is slated for launch later this month.
