Trump administration begins $500 ACA refunds in 30 states
According to ABC7 Los Angeles, the U. S. Treasury Department in Washington, D. C.
, began mailing $500 refund checks to roughly 950,000 ACA enrollees in 30 states on Sept. 30, citing alleged overcharges and lack of premium subsidies. Earlier reports said the Treasury planned the payments using a surplus from the exchange’s user fee and alleged overcharges by the previous administration’s marketplace. The checks were accompanied by a letter from President Donald Trump outlining his healthcare policies.
