Putin warns Russia will use all weapons to defend Kaliningrad
President Vladimir Putin told a Moscow forum that Russia was prepared to use its full arsenal, including nuclear weapons, to defend the Kaliningrad exclave against any Western aggression. He also denied that Russia intended to threaten the West.
Earlier, at the Valdai Forum, Putin warned that a direct attack on Kaliningrad could trigger the use of all weapons, nuclear arms included, and urged the West not to heighten tensions over Ukraine. Moscow had also told NATO it could employ nuclear weapons if the alliance attempted to isolate the exclave, a claim NATO rejected as irresponsible and called for a measured response.
