Samsung rolls out One UI 9 update for Galaxy S26 series with new AI features and privacy tools

Resumen

Samsung has begun delivering the One UI 9 software update to Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra devices, adding AI-driven camera tracking, expanded quick-panel customization and enhanced privacy alerts.

Samsung confirmed that the One UI 9 update is now available for the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra on select U.S. carriers, including T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile and US Cellular, as well as for unlocked devices. The rollout follows an earlier announcement that the update would start on September 21.

Among the new features is My FanCam, an AI-powered video-tracking tool first seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which lets users select a person in a video and have the camera follow them automatically. The update also expands the Now Nudge assistant, providing suggestions in more contexts such as conversation notifications and a floating button, and adds the ability to display relevant information on the call screen.

The Quick Panel has been made more customizable; users can rearrange controls, adjust the size of brightness and volume sliders, and separate the Sound Mode button from the volume slider. New privacy measures include AI-driven alerts that monitor app permission use and a blue indicator that appears at the top of the screen whenever an app accesses location data.

Samsung also listed upgrades to Bixby, a redesigned Samsung Health app with customizable home-screen cards and advanced trend analysis, and several accessibility enhancements such as text spotlight and improved TalkBack updates. Additional changes cover warranty information, faster lock-screen security shortcuts, and minor UI refinements.
