Boston Judge Denies Motion to Dismiss Lindsay Clancy Murder Charges
Judge William Sullivan in Boston denied a defense request to throw out the three first-degree murder counts against former nurse Lindsay Clancy on 1 October, saying the prosecution had offered enough physical and circumstantial evidence for a jury to consider criminal responsibility. The ruling came after a series of post-mistrial proceedings.
A September 29 hearing was scheduled to decide whether the case would be retried following a deadlocked jury, and earlier that week defense counsel Kevin Reddington argued that the evidence was insufficient. A status hearing earlier in September addressed motions and set a timetable, while a prior decision had postponed rulings on those motions until 2 November.
