Bob Chapek’s Upcoming Memoir to Defend Disneyland Ticket Hikes
Former Disney chief Bob Chapek is slated to release a memoir in New York on September 29, 2026, in which he says the park’s higher ticket prices and paid fast-track options boosted revenue and attendance and that he has no regrets. In the same book Chapek attributes his 2022 dismissal to predecessor Bob Iger, describing the succession plan as abrupt, and recounts his rise to the CEO role amid leadership turnover. Disney insiders say the memoir is viewed as a personal grievance against Iger, while journalist Ben Smith says Chapek exaggerated the significance of an Iger email during the early COVID-19 crisis.
