McDonald’s rolls out $8.5 billion restaurant upgrade plan with PlayPlaces
McDonald’s said it will launch a decade-long $8. 5 billion capital plan that will modernize its dining areas and reintroduce colorful indoor PlayPlaces, aiming to boost sales and improve the customer experience.
Earlier, the company outlined that the program, running through 2036, will fund restaurant remodels, the AI-driven kitchen system ArchIQ, and the rollout of hand-breaded chicken and other high-protein menu items, including options for customers using GLP-1 drugs. It also pledged partial financial support for franchisees to cover remodel costs and provide rent relief as part of a broader effort to increase its share of the global chicken market.
