Taylor Swift premieres 'Patient Zero' video at VMAs, earns record honor
Taylor Swift premiered the music video for her new single “Patient Zero” at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 28, featuring actors Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson, Variety reported. The video, which is filled with visual nods to earlier songs, tours and relationships, was highlighted by Page Six. She also received the inaugural Artist Director Honor and, with the win, brought her total VMA trophies to 32, NBC News said. Earlier in September, Swift announced the single and its September 25 digital release, Variety reported.
Promotional images showed her swapping a 10-carat diamond engagement ring for an emerald-cut stone, Yahoo News Singapore noted. The cover art drew criticism for perceived over-editing, Euronews. com reported. A preview of the video featuring Farrell and Johnson was released, Billboard said.
