Nor'easter weakens but still sparks flooding, outages and flight delays in Northeast
FOX Weather reported that a slow-moving nor'easter is weakening as it drifts offshore, yet it continues to produce coastal flooding, power outages and extensive airline delays across the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Meteorologists had earlier warned that the system could bring heavy rain, winds up to 80 mph and high surf from the Carolinas to New England.
The storm intensified over the weekend, prompting emergency declarations in New York and New Jersey, causing tens of thousands of outages and flooding along the coast. Authorities confirmed one death and hundreds of flight cancellations as the storm battered the region.
