Delaware State Police said a 74-year-old Maryland hunter was arrested and charged with manslaughter after he fired his rifle at a woman he believed was a deer while she was walking across a field near Ellendale in Sussex County on September 18. Earlier local reports noted the hunter was shooting from a ground blind and that the victim, a 39-year-old woman, was killed instantly.
