NFL Week 2 injury updates: multiple players questionable or ruled out
Several teams reported injuries ahead of Week 2, with key players like Eli Raridon, Dallas Goedert and Joe Burrow listed as questionable, while others such as Nick Scott and Mike Onwenu were ruled out.
The NFL’s second week saw a wave of injury reports affecting a dozen teams. New England Patriots rookie tight end Eli Raridon and linebacker Ty'Ron Hopper were both listed as questionable after thigh and eye injuries, respectively. The Patriots also ruled guard Mike Onwenu out with a leg injury, adding Greg Van Roten to the lineup.
In the NFC North, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was carted off with a neck injury and declared out, while teammate Zach Bako-Bewele missed the game with a knee injury. The Packers also listed defensive back Benjamin St-Juste among their inactives.
The Philadelphia Eagles had tight end Dallas Goedert and running back Saquon Barkley each marked as questionable due to knee and stinger concerns. The team also ruled safety Nick Scott out with an abdomen injury.
Quarterback Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals was initially listed as questionable with back tightness but was later confirmed active. Other notable absences included Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr., who missed the game with a back injury, and Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers, who was out with a hamstring strain.
"We’re monitoring the situation and will provide updates as we get more information," a team spokesperson said regarding the injuries.
Additional players ruled out or questionable included Patriots tackle Dametrious Crownover (knee), cornerback Carlton Davis III (neck), Saints running back Kendre Miller, Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (hamstring). The injury list underscores the physical toll of the early season schedule.
