U.S. Supreme Court blocks contested Missouri congressional map
The U. S. Supreme Court denied an emergency request and ordered Missouri to retain its 2022 and 2024 congressional districts, rejecting the Republican-drawn map that had been used in recent primaries. The decision follows a series of court battles over the state's redistricting.
Earlier, the 8th U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals had ordered Missouri to use the 2025 congressional map for the November election but stayed the order pending further appeal. Prior to that, the Missouri Supreme Court had upheld a voter petition to keep the 2022 map while lawsuits over a new GOP-drawn map continued.
