NCAA football committee says it cannot overturn Michigan win

The Football Bowl Subdivision Oversight Committee announced on 17 September that it lacks the authority to overturn Michigan's 13-12 win over Western Michigan and that the game will be included in the playoff selection committee’s comprehensive evaluation of each team’s season. Earlier, on 16 September, the NCAA said, as reported by USA Today, that a missed instant-replay review in the final seconds would have given Western Michigan a 12-7 victory.
