Nebraska defeats North Dakota 34-7, honors Tom Osborne in Hall of Fame induction
Nebraska beat the North Dakota Fighting Hawks 34-7, extending its non-conference winning streak and marking the induction of former coach Tom Osborne into the Nebraska Hall of Fame.
Nebraska recorded a 34-7 victory over North Dakota at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, improving to 17-0 all time against FCS opponents and extending its non-conference winning streak to 11 games. The Huskers scored early, opening with 14 points on drives of 75 and 90 yards, and added a field goal before halftime to lead 17-0 at the break.
In the second half, Nebraska widened the margin with a 55-yard rushing touchdown by freshman Jamal Rule and a 5-yard pass from quarterback Anthony Colandrea to Quinn Clark. The defense limited the Hawks, who had averaged over 50 points per game, to 171 total yards and forced them into a fourth-down conversion for their only score.
Nebraska posted 277 rushing yards and 216 passing yards, marking its third consecutive game with at least 200 yards in both categories—the first such stretch since 2016. Colandrea finished with 214 total yards, including a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown. Rule rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns, his second 100-yard game of the season.
The Blackshirts recorded five sacks and forced several three-and-outs, with Dwayne McDougle leading with seven tackles. Special teams contributed a 32-yard field goal by Kyle Cunanan before halftime and a 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
After the game, former head coach Tom Osborne was inducted into the Nebraska Hall of Fame, becoming the first living inductee. Nebraska’s next matchup is an away game at Michigan State, where it enters as a five-and-a-half-point favorite.
