Emmys 2026 In Memoriam Omits Prominent Figures, Sparks Criticism
On 12 September, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presented the In Memoriam segment at the 2026 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, but the tribute omitted notable figures such as Robert Redford, Nicholas Brendon and Chuck Norris, a decision that drew renewed criticism after co-star Judson Mills called the omission tragic on 16 September. Fans had already expressed disappointment over the missing names. Variety reported that fans noted the absence of Chuck Norris and Nicholas Brendon, and later Judson Mills, a co-star, said the Emmy Awards made a mistake by leaving Norris out, describing it as tragic and disappointing.
