Phoenix Police Investigate Vandalism of Charlie Kirk Statue
The Phoenix Police Department opened an investigation on 14 September after a bronze statue of conservative activist Charlie Kirk was sprayed with red paint at Turning Point USA’s Arizona headquarters. Police said they are examining the incident. The 8-foot statue had been unveiled on 10 September at the organization’s Phoenix office.
According to Al Jazeera, the statue was defaced with red spray paint shortly after the unveiling. The Independent reported that the vandalism also damaged signage and that Turning Point USA said it would repair and relocate the memorial.
