Oklahoma State Upset Oregon, Citing Defensive Read of Offensive Cues

Sports

Oklahoma State defeated Oregon 34-27 at Boone Pickens Stadium, and the Cowboys' defense said they identified tendencies in the Ducks' offensive line and quarterback pre-snap formations that helped them anticipate plays. Earlier coverage reported the Cowboys beating the sixth-ranked Ducks 39-31, snapping a 21-game FBS losing streak and giving coach Eric Morris his first win. KOCO reported that fans stormed the field and carried a goalpost to a nearby pond, an incident that could draw a conference fine.

The upset was highlighted as the first major surprise of Week 2, coinciding with Texas rallying past Ohio State. OregonLive noted Oregon’s offensive line struggles in a 21-17 loss.
