Defense lawyers request probe of holdout juror in Clancy mistrial
Lindsay Clancy’s defense team has asked a Massachusetts judge to examine the conduct and public statements of the sole juror who voted for conviction, after the jury deadlocked and a mistrial was declared. Court investigators said the juror, identified as Michael Desronvil, had a history of domestic-violence allegations, including a 2021 assault charge and a restraining order, and was subject to an unpaid-rent eviction proceeding (NBC Boston). CBS News reported that the 2021 assault charge was later dismissed. The BBC reported that Desronvil told reporters he was certain Lindsay Clancy intentionally killed her children.
Fox News reported that he has retained former Trump attorney Edward Paltzik for representation. The New York Post said a public fundraiser raised more than $350,000 to cover his security and legal costs. His brother, speaking to the New York Post, said the family has endured intense public scrutiny. WJAR reported that the juror described lasting emotional effects from the graphic testimony and expressed doubts about a retrial.
