49ers wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling to miss 10 weeks after ankle surgery
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling will miss about 10 weeks after undergoing surgery on his left ankle deltoid ligament, coach Kyle Shanahan said on September 16, 2026. The procedure follows a left-ankle injury he sustained in the season-opening game against the Los Angeles Rams on September 10, 2026. USA Today reported that Stribling was placed on the injury list after a non-contact ankle injury in the second quarter of that game.
NBC Sports Bay Area clarified the injury was not an Achilles tear, and the San Francisco Chronicle noted he was ruled out of the debut. Later, the Chronicle indicated he might need surgery, and Sports Illustrated said he re-injured the ankle after returning to the game, prompting the team to move him to injured reserve, which the New York Times said would keep him out for at least four weeks.
