First Complete Adult T. rex Walking Trackway Discovered in North Dakota

Paleontologists have identified a 7-meter trackway of four large footprints belonging to an adult Tyrannosaurus rex in the Hell Creek Formation of southwestern North Dakota, dating to about 66. 5 million years ago. The discovery follows earlier reports that a series of three-toed prints in the same formation, first noted by a high-school teacher and museum researcher, represented the first known T.  rex trackway.

Subsequent analysis by volunteer paleontologist Dr. Tyler Lyson and colleagues confirmed the four-print, 23-foot track as the first complete walking track of a mature T.  rex, and they plan to airlift the prints to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science for further study and public display.
