Sen. Jerry Moran highlighted Bombardier's employment and economic contributions in Kansas following President Trump's social-media call for the company to stop selling in the United States.

Sen. Jerry Moran, a Republican from Kansas, said the Canadian aircraft maker Bombardier supports more than a thousand workers in Wichita and contributes to U.S. defense and aerospace capabilities. He posted on X that he contacted the White House to ensure the president is aware of the company's role in the state and its supply-chain network.

Moran added that he will work to keep Bombardier’s manufacturing in Kansas and to expand job opportunities, noting the region’s skilled workforce and its reputation as the "Air Capital of the World."

President Donald Trump had posted on Truth Social that Bombardier should cease sales in the United States, arguing the firm relies heavily on American buyers and should build aircraft domestically. The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Bombardier responded that it employs workers across more than 20 U.S. states, including facilities in Kansas, Texas, Arizona and others, and that its supply chain involves roughly 2,800 American companies. The company said it spends over $2.5 billion annually with U.S. suppliers and that key components such as wings and flight-control systems are produced by American firms. It also announced plans to expand defense activities and open a new service facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana later this year.
