Illinois mother charged with toddler's murder, also accused of plotting husband's killing
Prosecutors said Cori Walsh, who was charged with murdering her 2-year-old son, had discussed poisoning her husband, and on 10 September her defense counsel asked a judge to keep her in medical care, citing severe mental illness. Walsh, a 40-year-old resident of Frankfort, Illinois, was arrested after a neighbor called 911 and her son was found dead in the basement on 1 September. Frankfort police and the Will County Coroner’s Office confirmed the child’s death, and she was detained on three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault after self-inflicted injuries were discovered.
