Xbox to limit Game Pass cloud gaming hours, exempting existing members
Microsoft said it will cap monthly Xbox Cloud Gaming usage for Game Pass tiers, while existing subscribers in certain countries will remain exempt under their current auto-renew plans. The company had previously disclosed that the limits, slated to begin in November, would range from 5 hours for the basic Game Pass tier to 10 hours for the mid-tier and 15 hours for Game Pass Ultimate, a threshold Microsoft described as matching the service’s break-even point.
The same announcement noted that the Xbox Cloud Gaming app will become available on TCL smart TVs. Earlier reports from gaming outlets echoed the upcoming caps and the option for non-subscribers to purchase additional hours.
