According to Business Insider, a GoFundMe campaign for the daughter of Bank of America vice president Erin Piacenti has raised more than $800,000 after Piacenti, 32, was fatally stabbed in Times Square on August 31 and the attacker was shot dead by police. The Guardian reported the attack appeared random, while AP News identified the assailant as 39-year-old Pamela Cisneros. Gothamist noted she had a documented history of mental illness and stabbed two strangers, killing Piacenti and wounding a 68-year-old man, before officers fired after she refused to drop her knives, resulting in her death.
