Police kill suspect after double stabbing in Times Square
New York police shot and killed a 49-year-old woman after she stabbed two pedestrians in Times Square, killing a 32-year-old woman and wounding another. The suspect was shot after a taser deployment failed to subdue her, the NYPD said.
Police launched an investigation, and emergency crews transported the victims to Bellevue Hospital, where the 32-year-old victim died and the other remains in critical condition. The department said the incident prompted a citywide response and that it is reviewing its use-of-force protocols.
