AI-Driven Earnings Surge Boosts Outlook for Chip and Server Makers
Broadcom, Dell, Nvidia and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise reported AI-driven revenue and earnings growth on 2 September in San Jose, California, boosting the sector outlook, Yahoo Finance reported. Broadcom had been slated to release its third-quarter results on that day, with analysts noting heightened implied volatility ahead of the report, CNBC said. The company’s earnings beat estimates but its revenue guidance fell short of consensus, and the stock slipped about 5% in after-hours trading, CNBC reported.
Broadcom also projected AI semiconductor revenue of $115 billion for fiscal 2027, driven largely by private AI firm Anthropic, raising concerns about reliance on a non-public customer, 24/7 Wall St. noted.
