Developer ports iPhone Duo animation to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8
On 10 September, a Reddit user posted a hack that reproduces Apple’s iPhone Duo unfolding animation on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8, but the modification cannot be integrated into the phone’s system UI, 9to5Google reported. The hack follows Samsung’s launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 on 9 September, which industry observers said set a benchmark for Apple’s anticipated foldable iPhone, citing its flexible display modes and build quality (Yahoo Tech).
Samsung introduced the device, praised for its entertainment features (9to5Google), and its executives expressed pride in pioneering foldables and welcomed Apple’s entry, noting a potential shift in market share (9to5Mac). A Notebookcheck review highlighted the Z Fold 8’s premium design while noting drawbacks such as high price, heating issues and limited speaker quality.
