Kalshi issues lifetime ban and $71k fine to ex-Congressman Santos
Prediction-market platform Kalshi imposed a lifetime ban and a $71,356 fine on former New York Representative George Santos after determining he wagered on his own attendance at the State of the Union and failed to cooperate with its investigation. The action was announced by Kalshi in a statement released in Washington. Earlier, the company said the penalties were for alleged insider-trading violations and Santos’s lack of cooperation with its compliance team.
