Royal family tensions flare as Harry and Meghan resume UK stay

King Charles was reported to be upset after learning of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the United Kingdom from officials, and Prince William was said to be preparing for possible disputes within the family, sources said. Earlier in the week, a royal household letter confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would remain non-working members of the royal family and would conduct any charitable work privately, retaining private-citizen status and financial independence.

At the same time, their children, Archie and Lilibet, began attending a private preparatory school in the Cotswolds, where the school issued privacy reminders to families. Reports also indicated that the Sussexes declined an offer to stay at a lodge on the Althorp estate and have not announced a permanent UK residence.
