Scheffler celebrates Tour Championship win with a beer in the clubhouse
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler treated himself to a beer after winning the Tour Championship and moving ahead of Tiger Woods on the all-time PGA Tour earnings list.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler capped his season with a victory at the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club, earning a $10 million prize and securing the FedEx Cup. After finishing his round, Scheffler entered the clubhouse, where an open bar allowed him to have a beer before heading to media obligations.
"I had a beer for the first time in a long time. It just sounded good," he said, adding that his wife and manager noted it had been a while since he drank. He also highlighted that the season’s end gave him the opportunity for a relaxed moment. Scheffler’s win marked his third of the year, tying the season total of titles held by Chris Gotterup, Matt Fitzpatrick and Wyndham Clark. The victory pushed his career earnings past $130 million, overtaking Tiger Woods for the top spot on the all-time PGA Tour money list. Woods later posted congratulations, praising Scheffler’s consistency and season record.
