Principal evacuates Nepal school, saving 900 pupils before flash floods
Principal Rajendra Dawadi ordered the evacuation of Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School on 26 August in the Trishuli Valley of Nuwakot, Nepal, saving at least 900 students before flash floods destroyed the campus. Earlier, AP News reported that teachers in Dhading sent students out of classrooms for lunch just minutes before sudden flash floods struck, allowing most children to escape. The BBC added that Dawadi received flood warnings and, minutes before water reached the school area, ordered the evacuation, preventing the loss of roughly 900 pupils.
