Jax Taylor alleges ex-wife sabotaged $175,000 TV comeback in restraining order filing
In a restraining order petition, reality star Jax Taylor claims his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, caused him to lose a $175,000 television opportunity, while Cartwright seeks her own protective order alleging abuse.
Reality television personality Jax Taylor filed a restraining order against his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, asserting that her actions cost him a $175,000 deal for a comeback on the Fox competition series "Special Forces." Taylor said he had been hired in April but was removed from the program days before filming after Cartwright allegedly contacted the network and criticized the show for giving him a platform.
The court filing states that Taylor now has no employment prospects and relies on a $5,000-per-month contract that expires in November, with his savings diminishing. He claims Cartwright used her podcast, Instagram and national television to demean him, and accuses her of physical aggression, including slapping, pushing and throwing objects.
Cartwright, who appeared on a previous season of "Special Forces" in 2025 and left the show after one day, obtained a temporary restraining order last week, alleging years of abuse, coercive control and financial exploitation by Taylor. She described threats and physical incidents, and said she suffered injuries from furniture being thrown at her.
Both parties share a five-year-old son, Cruz. A recent custody agreement denied Cartwright sole custody, and Taylor was ordered to stay 100 feet away from her. Taylor posted on Instagram that he accepts full responsibility for his behavior in 2024 but disputes some of Cartwright’s allegations, promising to present evidence in court.
"His mental and emotional calm, rebuilt at great personal cost through recovery, has been destroyed," the filing reads.
The filing also labels Cartwright as "unstable" and an "alcoholic," language that may reflect personal bias. No comment was obtained from Cartwright’s representatives or the network.
