Upper Pottsgrove officer indicted for voluntary manslaughter in student shooting
Upper Pottsgrove Police Corporal Sean Farrell was indicted on a voluntary manslaughter charge for the fatal shooting of unarmed 22-year-old college student Glenwood Earl Pysher IV in Upper Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. Police said the student had mistakenly knocked on a stranger’s door on 22 August and was on the porch with his hands raised when officers responded to a 911 call about a possible break-in; an officer fired two shots, killing him.
The Montgomery County coroner’s office later confirmed the death resulted from chest gunshot wounds and classified it as a homicide. Police placed the officer on administrative leave pending the investigation.
