Tropical Storm Edouard lands in Texas, unleashing heavy rain
ABC News reported that Tropical Storm Edouard struck the Texas coast on August 24, delivering up to nine inches of rain, storm surge of up to three feet and sustained winds around 60 mph. Earlier in the week, the National Hurricane Center had classified the system as Potential Tropical Cyclone 5 in the northern Gulf of Mexico, issuing tropical-storm warnings for parts of Texas and Louisiana and warning that the storm could intensify to hurricane strength and produce heavy rainfall.
