Cowboys sign QB Joe Milton to practice squad
The Dallas Cowboys signed quarterback Joe Milton to their practice squad on 2 September, making him the third-string option behind Dak Prescott and Sam Howell, NBC Sports reported. Milton had been waived on 22 August as the team trimmed its roster, leaving Prescott and Howell as the only quarterbacks on the active list.
Earlier in the preseason, Milton threw two touchdowns and ran for another, helping Dallas build a 24-6 halftime lead over the Arizona Cardinals, USA Today noted. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said the backup competition remained close between Milton and Howell as the roster deadline approached, NBC Sports quoted.
