Mike Lindell sues Minnesota over limited primary recount after withholding payment
Mike Lindell, the founder of MyPillow, filed a lawsuit in a Minnesota federal court on August 25, 2026, challenging the state’s plan to conduct a hand recount of the Republican gubernatorial primary that would limit the audit to only two candidates, after he refused to provide the $825,000 he had pledged for the recount, NBC News reported. He had earlier announced on August 18, 2026 that he would finance a statewide hand recount and audit of the primary, citing a state law that allows candidates to review all ballots. He later withheld the payment, saying the proposed recount parameters were too narrow, CBS News said.
