Page Six reported on August 25 that actress Sandra Bullock said she paused her acting career after her partner Bryan Randall’s ALS battle, noting she stopped work on a film following a reshoot and later withdrew from acting entirely. Earlier, Bullock posted summer family photos on Instagram, honoring her late parents and hinting at a return to film (Page Six). In a Smartless podcast she discussed Randall’s ALS diagnosis and death (Variety).
She said she respected his wish to keep the illness private (The Hollywood Reporter). The Independent noted she feared a mental-health decline while juggling filming, caregiving and raising two children. Yahoo reported she explained how she prepared her adopted children for Randall’s illness.
