UK pledges full support for Ukraine despite Russian warnings

Resumen

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham affirmed the United Kingdom will maintain its assistance to Ukraine, rejecting recent Russian threats linked to the use of UK-made drones.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said the United Kingdom will continue to provide full support to Ukraine, despite recent threats from Russia. The comments followed a warning from the Russian Embassy in London, which claimed the UK would "pay" after British-made drones were allegedly used in Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory. The embassy accused the United Kingdom of escalating the conflict and acting as an "accomplice and co-perpetrator" in attacks.

During a visit to Wolverhampton, Burnham responded, "This is the UK doing what it has long said it would do, which is to support Ukraine 100% against this illegal war led by Vladimir Putin." He added that the UK is supplying assistance so Ukraine can defend itself and emphasized that Britain is not a "fair-weather" friend, pledging to be present in Ukraine's hour of need.

Ukraine has intensified its long-range strikes on Russian energy and logistics targets, including recent attacks on an oil facility in Ust-Luga and the Progress rocket and space centre, according to Ukrainian officials. The Russian side reported missile strikes on the Kharkiv region that killed at least ten people and injured eighteen, using two Banderol cruise missiles.
